Former Trump Organization chief financial officer Alan Wesselberg is expected to be sentenced Monday on perjury charges he testified in the New York civil fraud trial of Donald Trump and his company, NBC News reports.
Wesselberg arrived at the Manhattan district attorney’s office before 7 a.m. MET and was expected to enter his guilty plea sometime Monday morning, NBC reported, citing three sources familiar with the matter.
An attorney for Wesselberg and a spokeswoman for the DA’s office did not immediately respond to CNBC’s request for comment.
The New York Times reported in early February that Wesselberg was in talks to lie on the witness stand in the Trump business fraud trial brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James.
Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Arthur Engron, who presided over the fraud trial, ordered lawyers in the case to provide details related to the Times report.
Trump is appealing a ruling by Engron that ordered Trump to pay more than $454 million in fines and interest for submitting false information about the value of his assets over years of financial records.
