“We always look at who is coming in, people and their families,” said Gordon Jamieson, chief executive of NHS Western Isles.
“We are looking for opportunities for partners, not just the person who has succeeded.
“It’s not everyone’s choice to come and live in a remote island community.
“For healthcare professionals, when you choose a place like Uist and Benbecula, it’s far from job-wise.”
