Rumors have been circulating for the past few months that the Democrats are planning to run former First Lady Michelle Obama in place of Joe Biden in this year’s presidential election because of her overwhelming popularity among the American people. Now, Obama has finally broken her silence on the rumors and revealed that she is considering running for president.
Obama broke his silence
The Daily Mail reports that Obama, 60, has spoken out to deny that she is planning to run for president.
“As former First Lady Michelle Obama has stated for many years, she will not run for president,” Crystal Carson, communications director for Obama’s office, told NBC News.
“Mrs. Obama supports the re-election campaigns of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris,” he added.
Democrats want Obama to run
That came after a recent Rasmussen Reports poll showed that 48 percent of Democratic voters polled would approve of the party “finding another candidate to replace Biden before the November election,” while 38 percent disapproved. However, 33 percent of Democrats predicted that such a ballot shakeup was unlikely.
As for who would replace Biden, Obama came out on top with 20 percent support, earning the top spot over a list of other potential candidates that included Vice President Kamala Harris, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, California Gov. Gavin Newsom, and were Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. “None of the above” and “Not sure” were also listed options.
Harris came in second to Obama with 15 percent of the vote, and Clinton came in third with 12 percent. Newsom, who some have claimed is running a “shadow campaign” for the presidency if Biden decides to drop out, came in fourth with 11 percent of Democrats voting for him, while Weimer came in fifth with just 9. With percent support.

Obama was afraid of the presidential election
Back in January, Obama expressed fears about this year’s presidential election.
“What is going to happen in this next election?” I’m afraid of what could happen, because our leaders are important,” Obama said, according to CNN. The way it affects me, sometimes I think people appreciate it.
“The fact that people think that the government – ‘Oh, does it really do anything?’ — and I’m like, ‘Oh my God, does the government do everything for us, and we can’t take this democracy for granted,'” she continued. “And I worry sometimes that we do. Those are the things that keep me going.”
Last year, Obama opened up about why she doesn’t plan to run for president.
“Politics is hard,” he told Oprah Winfrey in a Netflix special. “And those who enter into it … you want it. It must be in your soul, because it is very important. It is not in my soul.”

Obama angry with Jill Biden
In a separate 2022 interview, Obama said she “hated” questions about whether or not she would run for president. Other reports, however, have alleged that Obama was upset when Jill Biden rejected him as her husband’s running mate on the campaign trail in 2020.
When asked if Obama was an option to be Biden’s running mate, Jill replied, “You know, I would love it if Michelle agreed to it.” But I – you know, I think she had it with politics. I do not know. She is very good at everything. It will be – it will be wonderful.
Two sources said Obama was frustrated by the answer, and she wanted Jill to have a different one on hand that wouldn’t completely shut the door if she was asked the question again.
It’s a mystery to many of us why Obama continues to be as popular as she is. Thank goodness she has no plans to run for president, and we can only hope she doesn’t reconsider at any point in the future.
